About Jovana Lee.
Jovana Lee is an independent artist with roots in the San Diego music scene. The music she creates was heavily influenced by the power females in the rock scene of the late 80's early 90's, such as Babes in Toyland & Hole. Mix these these influences with U2's War album, Sonic Youth, Depeche Mode and the local San Diego musicians she had a chance to play with, and you get Jovana Lee.
Some of her fondest musical memories from San Diego are thanks to Soul Junk, Jupiter Crash, the Verso, Pinback, Black Heart Procession, Recordable Colors, Octogrape, River City the Band and Death by Volcano.
Currently, Jovana is based in Minneapolis, suffering from the cold of winter recording in her own space whilst looking for the next musical opportunity.
When there no music project happening, she models for fun. If you are looking for someone to do modeling, fitness modeling or advertisements, click on the modeling portfolios.
Jovana Lee has been writing songs for years but has never taken the time to record them professionally until now. The songs on Wyrre are a compilation of songs written over the last 10+ years and are based on stories from life experiences, with a little added flavor here and there.
Jovana Lee has many people to thank for getting the album Wyrre completed, from the musicians and producers who played on the album to those who were a part of the creation process.
Adam Storry and Bri Bader are the Minneapolis musicians who brought the songs to life in 2019. The cold winter days at City Sound Studio are some of her best memories in Minneapolis.
December of 2019, Jovana Lee started the demo of Wyrre with Anthony Cuttieta and Jordan JoyKill DeHaas in San Diego, her very first band members. If it weren't for their support, this album would never have happened.
Thanks to her everlong friendship with Glen Galloway at Singing Serpent Studios, Matt Lynott from The White Buffalo laid down the drums, initial vocals and guitars were recorded by sound engineers Ben Moore and John True, and the album was able to come to fruition.
Kristopher Johnson at Flowers Studio, Minneapolis MN took up the torch in Minneapolis to complete the remaining studio sessions, producing, extra guitars, and mastering of this album.
"It was an honor to work with such talented professionals and complete this project! Thank you all so much." ~ Jovana Lee
